Summer of SUM Tour Take 2

For the first time known of, a tour designed specifically for independent music artists, took flight. The Summer of SUM Tour, founded by Atlanta's business mogul, Seven Hughes, has been the most talked about tour this year.

The Summer of SUM Tour spotlights indie music artists from the R&B, Soul and HipHop genres and gives them what no tour has before. From the artists appearing on the promotional materials, the fan meet-n-greets, radio mentions, a profile on the site, the opportunity to have their music played on different stations and more. There has never been anything like it of this magnitude.

The tour, headlined by DIGITMAN Music's own, Digit (aka DIGIT MAN) started it's run in Charlotte, NC in June 2011 and will travel across the country to Los Angeles, CA for the final show of the year in November. "The Summer of SUM Tour offers artists more than the opportunity to perform on a nationally recognized stage, it teaches", says Mr. Hughes."It offers the business side of the industry from all of the correspondences and agreements to artists having to chose music particular markets would appreciate and ensuring their show is appealing to crowds that may not be familiar with their music", Seven continues.

As the Tour begins its second run in October, artists from all over the country are signing up to take part. After seeing photos and videos and after reading artist and crowd responses to earlier shows, people are truly starting to believe. And after seeing it with my own eyes, I know that the Summer of SUM Tour will be here for a very long time. "With anything new, it takes time for people to catch on. But with this Tour, it just seem to flow. Artists from all over are trusting us to deliver what we say and we take that seriously", says Jonda Carethers, Tour Coordinator. "There have been some great shows and the artists chosen thus far have delivered from their souls! Those who have come out say they appreciate the level of talent chosen to represent this tour", Carethers states.

Atlanta Artist Digit Signs with E1/Royal Bloodline Records in LA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 11, 2010

DIGIT Signs With E1 (formally KOCH Entertainment)/Royal Bloodline Records

(Atlanta, GA) - After two years and almost one hundred thousand dollars later, Atlanta’s own hip hop artist, Seven “Digit” Hughes lands a deal with the leading company in independent music, E1 (formally KOCH Entertainment)/Royal Bloodline Records.

Over the past few weeks, there have been negotiations between several labels and self managed rapper, “Digit” battled as to who to sign with. The business mogul and entertainer found himself in what he called, “A silent auction” between two local independent hip hop labels and prominent industry giant, E1 Entertainment (formally KOCH Entertainment) via Royal Bloodline Records. “They all seemed to have their advantages. But at the end of the day, when a giant like E1 comes your way and they’re willing to come to terms that you’re good with, how could I say no?” Says Digit.

Music isn’t all that occupies his mind. Seven is the founder of the Campaign for the Arts, a national initiative to keep the arts in schools. He also sits on the board of directors for the Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Foundation as well.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in South Carolina, Seven Hughes, a.k.a. “Digit” was introduced to the entertainment industry as a young child. At the age of three, he was making his mark in modeling and acting. As a pre-teen, he thrilled locals popping to Michael Jackson on the streets of New York.

For Digit, life was more complicated than just dancing and acting. It was a hustle and grind. As a product of a single parent home, he was forced to come up with creative ways to make money to provide himself the pleasures of a “normal” teenager. At age 14 he landed his first job working in the music industry for the South Carolina Record Pool (SCRP), where he learned the ins and outs of the business. That same year, he started a graphic design/printing business (www.7thwonder.com), which still exists today. Digit’s been a "Boss" since his youth.

After the years and sweat he has put into his craft, it was no surprise to his fans when Digit announced on FaceBook and Twitter this past weekend that the deal with E1/Royal Bloodline Records was being signed. “I’ve had tunnel vision for the past 27 months. I have obsessed about my craft. I’ve lived it all day, every day,” says Digit. “Something within me said that my day would come with this project,” he goes on to say. His first mix-tape, The Alter Ego & The Summer of Sum is set to drop this October.

Digit is scheduled to have his last performance as an Indie artist (which is also his performance as a signed artist with E1) on November 13th, 2010 at the Apache Café in Atlanta, GA. Doors open at 7pm and his performance will begin at 7:30pm.
