Every since I started back with the music a few years ago, it's been crazy trying to find and KEEP a good manager. What is the problem? At first, just like the books say, "you're not going to get anyone who knows much about anything. They'll just want to help you because they believe in you".
But, if they don't know much, it will hinder the process and no money will be made. When money isn't made and people are working like mad men, they don't last long. They get burnt out quickly and fold. I know that management is hard and strenuous work. But if you're not cut out for it, or if you can't make your clients money, you shouldn't be in the business of management.
The job is about more than you. Its about your client "COMPLETELY". I understand that and can manage, however, professionals don't want to hear from the "talent". So, where does this leave me? I had to start and maintain an entire company with associates and employees just to get the word out about myself? I had to pay a branding company to brand me. It was all me. (outside of God) Then I found management and stayed still?
But now, where am I? Back to self-management and trusting in the other sides of my business to catapult me to the top! I'll be there soon.
Until I get there...
Peace and Blessings
Ya Boi, Digit
